We've borrowed this homemade pizza recipe for Honey Soppressata Pizza from Superman Cooks because it's pretty fantastic! It's a delicious blend of spicy and sweet drizzled with our Bee Kind Chili Pepper Infused Honey. Enjoy!
Bee Sting Pizza
Ingredients
1 store bought pizza crust (16")
one 26 oz can of crushed tomatoes
4 garlic cloves chopped
¼ cup olive oil
6-8 basil leaves
4 oz soppressata, sliced
4 oz chopped and cooked sausage
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
Sauce
In a medium saucepan, add ¼ cup olive oil, crushed garlic, and tomatoes. Cover with a lid and heat over medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and remove lid.
This sauce will make enough for 2-3 pizzas. Refrigerate for up to 1 week.
Pizza
Preheat oven to 500F.
Place pizza crust on pizza pan or baking sheet. Spread with a cup or so of sauce and cover pizza with sausage, soppressata and cheese.
Bake in oven 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Remove from oven and drizzle with Bee Kind Chili Pepper Infused Honey, extra virgin olive oil and torn basil leaves before serving.
