This spiced mulled wine is inspired by the steaming cups served in the chilly winter months at outdoor markets and skating rinks in Germany and Austria. Brew this on the stove and it will make the house smell amazing! Pour into a thermos to take with you while playing in the snow or curl up in front of the fire with a cup to take the edge off of these frosty days.
Bee Kind Mulled Wine
2 bottles of good red wine
2 1/4 cups water
Juice of 2 lemons
Juice of 1 navel orange
1/3 cup Bee Kind Chai Iced Honey or to taste
2 cinnamon sticks
2 oranges sliced for garnish (optional)
Add wine, water, lemon juice, orange juice and Bee Kind Chai Iced Honey to a non-reactive pot. Stick cloves into the orange peel and add to pot along with cinnamon sticks. Heat through, being careful not to boil. Let just about simmer 20-30 minutes. Remove orange peel, cloves and cinnamon. Serve in mugs with sliced oranges to garnish.
