What Is Infused Honey? How We Make It and How to Use It
Share
Infused honey is one of the easiest ways to add flavour to everyday food and drinks. Here's what it is, how we make ours, and our favourite ways to use each flavour.
What is infused honey?
Infused honey is honey that real ingredients have been steeped in to draw out their flavour. It's different from flavoured syrups: nothing artificial is added, just honey and the ingredient itself.
How we make ours
We start with 100% pure, Canada No. 1 unpasteurized honey from the Okanagan. We infuse it in small batches with whole flowers, herbs and spices for several weeks, then remove them. Whenever we can, we use locally sourced ingredients.
Our flavours and how to use them
Lavender
Floral and gently sweet. Stir into Earl Grey or green tea, or bake it into scones and shortbread. Try our Lavender Honey Scones.
Vanilla
Warm and rounded. Sweeten lattes, drizzle over ice cream, or use it in granola. Try our Honey Maple Granola.
Chili Pepper
Our take on hot honey: sweet first, then a warm kick. Drizzle on pizza, chicken or a cheese board. Try our Bee Sting Pizza.
Lemon
Bright and zesty. Perfect in hot tea, iced tea and salad dressings. Try our Honey Balsamic Shallot Tarts.
How to store infused honey
Keep it at room temperature with the cap closed. Like all raw honey, it may thicken or crystallize over time, which is completely natural.
